The Palau National
Invasive Species Committee yesterday hosted a half-day National Consultation
for Prioritization of Islands for Eradication of Rodents.
The National Consultation was held at the Assembly Hall at the Koror State
Capitol Building.
The consultation was to coordinate and share information on a project
to prioritize islands for eradication of rodents (rats and mice) on islands
in Palau , and throughout Micronesia.

extensive experience in rodent eradication gave a brief presentation on
rodents and eradication methods, followed by an introduction to the prioritization
project.
Representatives of agencies, organizations, and communities also shared
information and consult on the best way to conduct the prioritization
project, which will be completed by December 2007.
Island Conservation, a science-driven, nonprofit organization dedicated
to preventing extinctions and protecting natural ecological and evolutionary
processes on islands, has over 10 years experience in prioritizing,
