40 In A Bag leads winners on opening day of 4-person beach volleyball spring league

The Miller Lite Four-Person Beach Volleyball League Spring 2007 kicked off last Tuesday with eight teams playing debut games at the PIC sandcourt.
40 In A Bag and the Okie Dokie Dolphins opened the hostilities in the 12-team field with the former winning two of the three sets, 11-2, 3-11, 11-08.
40 In A Bag is composed of Kimiko Hasegawa, Dale Roberts, Jon Cramer, Kelley Butcher, Mallik Edwards and John Waechter.
The members of the Okie Dokie Dolphins are Heartim Williams, Typhoon Saito, JR Gechig, JJ Nekaifes, Layer Jane Sanchez and Joan Celis.
Joining 40 In A Bag on the opening-night winners’ list were Bring It On, Limarh and the Sand Smackers.
Bring It On won all three sets of their match against the Dolphin Dorks, 11-0, 12-10, 11-2.
Giving Bring It On a sweep over the Dolphin Dorks were Apple Samson, Sydney Takahashi, Michael Ray, Lani Koch, Paul Samson and Marley.
The Dolphin Dorks are composed of Jeannie Caballa, Vaughn Wonenberg, Earlon Granada, Alex Sablan, Kevin Flores and Mark Dela Cruz.
Limarh won, 11-6, against the Hussy Chandeliers in the opening set, but the latter recovered in the second set, 12-10. Limarh avoided a collapse winning the third set, 11-7.
Larry Sharry is leading Limarh, which also includes Jazz Roscow, JJ Neth, Mika, Alison Kaipat and David Terwillger in its lineup.
Robert Jordan is anchoring the Chandeliers, which also includes Jess Palacios, Linda Anastacio, Keno Ichihara, Amanda Puleo and Allan Webber.
In the last game, the Sand Smackers bounced back from an opening set loss to down Matua, 5-11, 11-6, 11-6.
Leading the Sand Smackers is Keith Sablan. Also on the team are Ken Tanzawa, Marino Pungilug, Virginia Gridley, Kirk Palacios and Scotty Silva.
Matua is composed of Rob Epley, Chris Nelson, Eric Olopai, Martin Castro, Alexandra Ray, Richard Miller and Morgan Rose.
The four other teams fighting for the championship in the spring beach volleyball league are Rots of Ruck, Hellians, Flippin Dolphins and the Dolphin Success.
Rots of Ruck is composed of Laurie Peterka, Scott Eck, Gordan Semin, Adam Hardwicke, Phil Jung and June Keller.
Members of the Hellians are Dan Westphal, Bruce Berline, Mili Saiki, Luther Taylor, Ike Diopulos and Brad Ruszala.
In the Flippin’ Dolphins’ lineup are Kevin Rojo, Eugene Solomon, Sean Sanros, Jon Mafnas, Kristine Bermudes, Shikynah Quiatchon, Ann Ermitanio and Emily Jang.
The Dolphin’s Success is composed of Daisy Rojo, Dyenina Diaz, Addy Mojica, Elroy Tereyama, Oliver Tabhan and Mark Reyes.
Rots of Ruck and the Dolphin Success debut tonight in the first game at 5:30 p.m. In the second match, the Hellians take on the Flippin’ Dolphins at 6:30 p.m., while the Sand Smackers meet the Hussy Chandeliers in the third game at 7:30 p.m.
The last match will feature 40 In A Bag against Bring It On at 8:30 p.m.
