OLEAI Elementary
School gained its second win in the womens division of the 2006-2007
Elementary School Fast-pitch Softball tournament after walloping William
S. Reyes, 13-2, last Wednesday at the Miguel Tan Ge Pangelinan
Ballfield.
Oleai, which beat Dandan on April 26, but lost to Kobverville last Monday,
allowed the Lady Kingfishers only three hits.
Oleai took a 2-0 lead at the end of the first two innings and the Lady
Kingfishers never recovered.
WSR scored its two runs at the bottom of the second to tie the game at
2-all.
But Oleai scored five runs in the next three innings against WSRs
none to take a 7-2 advantage.
Oleai capped its dominating performance with a six-run sixth inning to
hand WSR its first loss in two games.
Leight Anne went 2-for-2 at the plate for Oleai and scored a run and had
two singles.
Kenisha, Jacklyn and Rita scored two runs apiece for Oleai, while Bernelyn,
Rona, Jenelyn, Rachel, Kyola and Lisa had one each.
WSRs only two runs were scored by Angelica and Nicole.
The elementary school fast-pitch tournament is in its last two weeks with
seven playing days left.
Today, Koblerville goes for win No. 2 against Dandan.
The Umangs won their debut sweeping Oleai in the boys and girls
divisions.
Nine teams are playing in this years tournament
They are grouped into two pools with SVES, Tanapag, GES, GTC and Kagman
in Pool A and WSR, DES, OEA and Koblerville in Pool B.
The top two placers in Pool A will square off for the first finals berth,
while the No. 1 and 2 squads in Pool B will fight for the last championship
ticket.
Trophies will be awarded to the top three finishers in both the girls
and boys divisions.
The girls finals is set for May 17, while the boys winner-take-all
championship game scheduled for May 18.
