DLNR to hold special clinic day for National Pet Week

THE animal clinic run by the Department of Land and Natural Resources will be open tomorrow, in observance of National Pet Week, according to Pet Assistance and Welfare Services and Beautify CNMI! the groups organizing the event which will be held for the first time in the commonwealth.
Free pet care services at the DLNR Animal Health Center in As Perdido will be among the prizes in “The Best of the Worst” dog show that will be held on the final day of CNMI Pet Week.
The DLNR clinic will be open from 8 a.m. to 9:15 a.m., because Land and Natural Resources Secretary Ignacio Dela Cruz has to attend a proclamation signing at the mayor’s office declaring May 6 to 12 as CNMI Pet Week.
The clinic will re-open at 11 a.m.
The clinic will make available the usual services that include parvo vaccinations for $5, combo vaccinations for $10, treatment for skin diseases, and topical parasiticide prescriptions for $5.
Information about the benefits of responsible pet ownership will also highlight the event as the PAWS education committee visits the classrooms of Kagman Elementary School and San Antonio Elementary School.
Presentations will include reading to children, videos,and activities that will be carried out by Beautify CNMI!’s Angelo Villagomez and other volunteers.
