Bill seeks restrictions at library’s parking area

By Mar-Vic Cagurangan
Variety News Staff

ILLEGAL parking at the car park area of the Hagatna Public Library would cost you $25 under a bill that restricts parking in that busy area of the central district.
Under Bill 102, the parking area would be exclusive for use of library employees and patrons.
The bill, introduced by Sen. Ray Tenorio, R-Yigo, requires the library director to maintain a list of employees who can park in the area located across from PN building in Hagatna.
If the bill becomes law, library patrons would be required to sign in when entering the parking lot and sign out when they leave.
The Guam Police Department and the library director would be authorized to enforce the parking restriction.
Currently, parking spots are marked with the sign “for library employees and patrons only,” but guests of nearby establishments park their vehicles there just the same due to limited space in the area.
