2 in ‘ice’ case plead not guilty

TWO men arrested for possession and distribution of “ice” entered a plea of not guilty.
Lin Sheng, 30, also known as Papa Sang and Wei Kuo Chung, 41, also known as John Wei, appeared for arraignment in federal court yesterday.
Lin Sheng’s counsel is Steven Pixley while Wei Kuo Chung is represented by Loren Sutton.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Craig Moore moved that the defendants remain in custody which U.S. District Court for NMI Chief Judge Alex R. Munson granted.
He ordered that the defendants be remanded to the custody of the U.S. Marshal Service.
The federal court also set a jury trial for next month.
The defendants were indicted by a grand jury on May 4 on illegal drug charges.
Lin Sheng was indicted for possession with the intent to distribute a controlled substance, and distribution of a controlled substance.
The indictment stated that on April 13, 2007, Lin Sheng possessed a controlled substance, approximately three grams of methamphetamine commonly known as “ice” with the intent to distribute it, and which he knowingly and intentionally distributed.
Wei Kuo Chung was indicted on two counts of distribution of a controlled substance.
The indictment stated that Wei Kuo Chung, on April 5 and 6, 2007, knowingly and intentionally distributed in and within 1,000 feet of the property comprising a private elementary school, St. Remedio School, a controlled substance that was approximately 1.8 grams and 1.9 grams of methamphetamine or “ice.”
