Juan B. Tudela says the Saipan Higher Education Financial Assistance program
is now accepting new and renewal application for financial assistance
for the fall 2007 semester/quarter.
Any bona fide resident of Saipan or the Northern Islands who is a U.S.
citizen or permanent resident and will be enrolled in the fall 2007 semester/quarter
in any U.S accredited colleges or universities on Saipan or abroad as
a full-time student and has at least 2.5 GPA for undergraduate and 3.0
GPA for graduate and advanced standing, must submit a new and completed
application and all required supporting documents to the SHEFA office
in Garapan, Saipan on or before July 2, including and original copy of
the SHEFA promissory note/memorandum of agreement and the latest and most
recent sealed official transcript pursuant to the promulgated SHEFA rules
and regulations.
Continuing students in colleges or universities who have been recipients
of SHEFA assistance must also submit a renewal application and all required
supporting documents to the SHEFA office in Garapan, Saipan on or before
July 2, including an original copy of the SHEFA promissory note/memorandum
of agreement and the latest and most recent sealed official transcript
pursuant to the promulgated SHEFA rules and regulations.
All other previous applicants and/or SHEFA recipients who were denied
SHEFA assistance must submit a new application for fall 2007 and all required
supporting documents to the SHEFA office in Garapan, Saipan on or before
July 2, including and original copy of the SHEFA promissory note/memorandum
of agreement and the latest and most recent sealed official transcript
pursuant to the promulgated SHEFA rules and regulations.
All new and renewing applicants for fall 2007 are required to provide
SHEFA with the most current e-mail address, Saipan postal address, and
current mailing address for those presently studying abroad or plan to
study outside of Saipan. Everyone is also required to provide a student
identification number issued by the college of record.
