THE Guam Legislature has lauded
Citi Guam for its volunteer work, awarding the company a special resolution
that recognizes its work in the community.
The legislative resolution, presented by Sen. Ray Tenorio, R-Yigo, also
recognized the numerous grants Citi Guam has awarded to improve education,
teach financial literacy, and support community development on the island.
A second legislative resolution was presented to one of Citis employees,
Grace Gagaring, in recognition of her achievement as Big Brothers Big
Sisters of Guams Mentor of the Year 2006.
Tenorio officially presented the resolutions to company officials and
Gagaring during a townhall meeting of Citi employees.
On behalf of the people of Guam, we would like to thank Citi and
Ms. Gagaring for all the numerous volunteer efforts and outstanding community
support. Your lead role in serving others is reflected in the many positive
changes in the attitudes of our youth and their families, the senator
said.
Madhu Seshadri, Citi Country Officer, Guam, responded by saying that it
is a great honor for his company to receive the legislative recognition.
This award belongs to our employees and we are proud to have such
a group who willingly share their talents and time to help make a difference
in the lives of our local people, Seshadri said.
During the same townhall meeting, three Citi employees were presented
the USA Presidents Volunteer Service Award.
These employees received the Bronze Award for volunteering 100 to 249
hours in a 12-month period. The Presidents Volunteer Service Award
is issued by the Presidents Council on Service and Civic Participation
on behalf of the President of the United States to recognize the best
in American spirit, and to encourage all Americans to improve their communities
through volunteer service, and civic participation.
