CONTINENTAL Micronesia is planning several activities to celebrate 25 years of the airline’s service in the Guam-Manila route.
Continental’s inaugural flight to Manila was on July 2, 1982. The airline had just added its fourth Boeing 727 to its fleet and began flying four times a week between Guam and Manila.
Continental Micronesia Asia and Micronesia Director for Sales and Marketing David Kendell described the airline’s 25 years of serving Manila as an exciting journey during which Continental increased its frequency to daily flights, upgraded its fleet, and even added a second destination in the Philippines.
“For 25 years, the traveling public has trusted us with their business and safety to take them abroad to see family and friends. We hope the public will enjoy some of the activities we have planned. It is our way of saying ‘maraming salamat po’,” Kendell said.
Among the special anniversary promotions are the following:
* Travel between Guam and Manila and receive 500 OnePass bonus miles;
* Free tickets to the Saturday, May 19th concert featuring Filipino rock group “Bamboo” at the University of Guam Fieldhouse, and at the night of the concert, win two roundtrip tickets to Manila; and
* Travel on Continental’s flight to and from Manila on July 2 or 3 and receive special commemorative gifts marking the airline’s silver anniversary.
According to the airline, there will be other promotional activities during the rest of the year.
With 25 consecutive years of service between Guam and Manila, the airline said Continental Micronesia has served this market longer than any other airline.
