Koblerville advances to playoffs in elementary fast-pitch softball tilt

KOBLERVILLE Elementary School moved into the playoffs in the 2006-2007 Elementary School Boys and Girls’ Fast-pitch Softball tournament after sweeping the regular season games.
Koblerville’s boys’ team capped their perfect season with a 9-1 victory over William S. Reyes Elementary School last Monday at the Miguel “Tan Ge” Basa Pangelinan Ballfield.
The Umangs shut out the Kingfishers in the first five innings before giving up a run in the sixth to end the regular season with a 3-0 record.
The Umangs gained the first semis slot in Pool B and will wait for the winner of the Oleai-WSR game.
In the girls’ division, the Lady Umangs are also undefeated. Their last and third win was over the Lady Kingfishers, 11-7, also last Monday.
Joining the Lady Umangs in the semis in the girls’ Pool B are Oleai.
Dandan Elementary School and WSR are already out of contention.
The Lady Umangs and Oleai will square off for the first finals berth on May 16.
The playoffs cast in Pool A has yet to be decided.
Five teams are fighting for the semis berths in Pool A with only the top two squads after the regular season getting tickets to the playoffs
San Vicente’s girls’ team has a 2-0 record and will play Gregorio T. Camacho School and Kagman Elementary School in its last two games on May 10 and May 14, respectively.
GTC is currently in second place in Pool A with a 2-1 record, followed by Tanapag and Garapan, which have identical 1-2 records, and Kagman (0-1).
In the boys’ division, San Vicente is also leading Pool A with a 2-0 record, followed by Garapan (2-1), Kagman (1-1), GTC (1-2) and Tanapag (0-3).
GTC entered the win column after slipping past the Tanapag Tatagas, 12-9, yesterday.
GTC’s girls’ team also won over the Lady Tatagas, 15-4.
