The Ididers booked the most lopsided victory over Ngiwal Central, 120-53, as well as setting other records for the season.
With the win, the Idididers advanced into the next round of the ongoing Season Playoffs of the 2007 Shell NBL last Saturday May 5 at the Palau National Gymnasium.
It was the first time that four players in a team scored 20 or over with Gino Smau leading the chores with his night high of 29 points, Ongor 26, John Stills 24 and Gary Olkeriil 20.
Aside from scoring the most points in a quarter of 43 points in the fourth quarter, the Ididers also earned the distinction of scoring the most points in a game with their final score of 120.
The quarterscores for the game are 29-15, 52-28, 77-38 and 120-53.
The win earned for the Ididers the right to face the Peleliu Islanders with that game still in progress as of presstime last night.
The Islanders also advanced via a 76-61 victory over Mesang last Saturday with Umedib scoring 17, team captain Ditz and Rusky chipping in 13 and 11.
The other winner on the same night was Ikelau, which came home with a 80-75 decision at the expense of the 79ers.
The Ikelauans thus earned the right to face Meda, with the game also played last night.
Earlier on Friday May 4, defending champion Peched further solidified its aim of a back-to-back title after defeating Palau Pacific Resort, 76-70.
Weston Ketebengang scored 11 of his game high of 27 points in the fourth quarter to lead the defending champions and got the ever-reliable support from Sunshine Soalablai, who finished with 18.
The Ngermid Rivals also advanced by beating Airai, 107-88, with Javis Pedro hitting 32 markers.
Tonight’s games will be between the Rivals and the Breakers at 6:30 p.m. while Peched, which won the Division I title, will go up against Division II winner Mason’s Hardware at 8 p.m.
