THE 2007 NYBA 16-and-under Basketball League had three make-up games last Tuesday at the Garapan basketball court with the Sixers and the G-Stars winning in the boys’ 16-and-under division and the Sonics prevailing in the boys’ 14-and-under age group.
The Sixers topped the Explosives, 63-51, while the G-Stars whipped the G-Rollers, 76-54.
Matt and Ernest Duenas led the Sixers’ 12-point win drilling 17 and 14 points, respectively.
With Matt firing 13 markers and Ernest hitting eight in the first half, the Sixers broke the game wide open taking a 50-30 halftime lead.
The Explosives never recovered from thereon.
Guy Mosley nailed 19 markers to power the G-Stars to a 22-point win over the G-Rollers.
The G-Stars controlled the game from start to finish with Mosley getting support from Jericho Cruz, Juan Diaz and Nate Mateo.
It was the G-Stars fifth win in as many games.
In the boys’ 14-and-under, the Sonics topped Chacha Junior High School, 54-43.
Tristan Ecalnea paced the Sonics scoring 15 points.
