Public Health to hold immunization assessment

By Trina San Agustin
Variety News Staff

TO BETTER serve the public, the Department of Public Health and Social Services will hold an island-wide immunization coverage assessment for close to two weeks beginning May 22.
DPHSS officials said the assessment is necessary to evaluate Guam’s immunization rates and the services that are being provided. The results will help the program better plan and enhance any future services to benefit Guam residents.
Surveyors with Public Health will be visiting homes throughout the island beginning May 22 through June 2.
Public Health advises residents that the surveyors will be wearing identifiable clothing and will be carrying a DPHSS identification card.
They will be targeting homes with children 12 to 35 months old and 6 years to adults 50 years and older, according to DPHSS.
Public Health is asking for the support of the community by tying up dogs and to have their shot records ready.
