An owner of a woodcarving
store was charged with two counts of trafficking in a controlled substance.
According to Criminal Case No. 07-069, Elbebai Erchar is facing charges
for allegedly selling marijuana.
In the affidavit of probable cause of Bureau of Public Safety officer
Norman Bintorio, he said that on Feb. 2007, the Narcotics Office received
information that the defendant is allegedly selling illegal drugs and
that a controlled buy was arranged.
The affidavit said that Bintorio , another police officer and the confidential
informant went to the wood carving store of the defendant.
The affidavit said the police observed that the CI entered the building
and met with the suspects near the stairs.
The CI then allegedly handed some money to Erchar and took something out
of his pocket and handed it to the informant.
The informant then handed back the joints to the police. The joints were
then field tested.
On March 5, Erchar was arrested after a second controlled buy.
The defendant, the affidavit said , admitted that he had been using and
selling marijuana joints at his shop since 2003 and stated that he reportedly
get his marijuana from Peleliu state boat.
