Student charged for peddling drugs

A STUDENT at Simon Sanchez High School faces charges of possession of a schedule one controlled substance with intent to deliver as a first-degree felony and possession of schedule one controlled substance within a drug-free school zone as a first-degree felony.
Vincent Lee Mantanona Garrett, 18, was arrested after a fellow classmate told a school aide that he had seen him sell the drug marijuana to students in class, according to a Superior Court magistrate complaint.
Garrett was removed from the classroom on Thursday, and was asked by school officials if he had any contraband with him. The teen then gave the school aide an Altoid breath mint container that had “seven hand-rolled cigarettes containing a leafy substance that appeared to be marijuana,” according to the complaint.
The teen then waived his rights and signed a statement stating that he had approached several students during a school break around 8:30 a.m., asking if they wanted to purchase controlled substance from him.
He also agreed to sell marijuana for another student and was given six or seven “sticks” that he was to sell for $10 each.
