AN ELEMENTARY school teacher faces charges of assault, child abuse, harassment, and disorderly conduct after he allegedly was too rough with an 11-year-old student.
Todd William Theisen, 56, a teacher at Finegayan Elementary School, was arrested last week.
The student told the principal that Theisen pushed him.
According to Guam Police Department public information officer Allan Guzman, Theisen was charged with assault and child abuse.
On Wednesday at 12:06 p.m., the mother of the 11-year-old boy walked into the Dededo precinct and told officers that Theisen grabbed her son’s shirt and pushed him, according to Superior Court magistrate documents.
The document also stated that police questioned the 11-year-old and he told them that Theisen had grabbed his shirt and shoved him towards the wall.
Theisen did not deny that he had pushed the minor out of his classroom because the minor was acting up.
It is not known if Theisen was released or remains behind bars.
Guam Public School System officials were not available for comment on this matter.
