GWHS Army JROTC Battalion holds change ofcommand ceremony

(GPSS) — The Warrior Battalion of George Washington High School’s Army JROTC Unit held a change of command ceremony at the Mangilao campus.
Outgoing senior Cadet Colonel Josette Eclavea was relieved by incoming Junior Cadet Lieutenant Colonel Teresa Salazar.
A resident of Yigo, Eclavea led the 335-member battalion through the 2006-2007 school year with the notable distinction of bringing back the overall title of Golden Bear Champions for those units that participated in the recent Golden Bear 7th Annual Drill Meet in Torrance, California last month.
Salazar, of Agana Heights, will take command of the battalion for the upcoming school year 2007-2008. Close to 100 family, friends, and guests attended the morning ceremony held at the E-Wing Parking Lot.
Senior Army Instructor Captain Joseph Santos awarded certificates and medals to some 40 cadets who exemplified the best qualities of leadership, citizenship, duty, honor, and academic standing for the past school year.
