A HEARING on the case of a former University of Guam official has been continued after both defense and government lawyers agreed to proceed with the criminal trial setting next Monday.
The trial setting on the case of Beatrice M.C. Taitano-Cruz, 52, a former Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and Americans with Disabilities Act compliance officer for UOG, was originally set for May 7 but it was moved to May 14 after both defense and government lawyers agreed on a continuance.
Yesterday, the rescheduled proceeding was moved again for May 21 at 10 a.m. before Judge Steven Unpingco.
Taitano-Cruz resigned from UOG after she was indicted on theft, forgery, tampering with public records and official misconduct charges last year.
She allegedly received a per diem allowance and payment for a conference after submitting a false hotel receipt in an attempt to obtain more money from UOG.
