A 39-year-old man who robbed
a poker arcade and beat up a woman was arrested on Friday by police while
hiding in the restroom of the establishment.
Genero Vega Lansangan was found by police hiding in the restroom of the
Susupe Poker establishment.
Lansangan was brought to Superior Court Monday morning before Associate
Judge Juan T. Lizama who imposed a cash bail of $15,000 for his temporary
release.
Lansangan was remanded to the custody of the Department of Corrections
and was ordered to appear in court on May 23 for a preliminary hearing.
The affidavit of Detective Simon Manacop stated that Lansangan was playing
poker at Susupe Poker when he became upset after losing $180.
Lansangan desided to rob the establishment and asked the victim, Chun
Zi Jin, for a tissue.
As soon as the she opened the door to hand him the tissue, Lansangan pushed
her causing her to fall.
He then entered the cashiers booth and punched Chun Zi Jin several
times.
She managed to fight back and later ran outside for assistance.
Lansangan took the money and hid in the restroom while a poker attendant
called the police.
The affidavit stated that the victim went to the poker establishment to
meet her friend, Wen Ji Jin, the cashier.
Wen Ji Jin asked the victim to assist him by staying in the cashiers
booth while he cleaned the air-conditioning unit outside.
The victim was inside the cashiers booth when the defendant entered
and assaulted her.
The victim suffered swelling on her face, bruises and scratches on her
arms and neck and was treated later at the Commonwealth Health Center.
