A 39-year-old man who robbed a poker arcade and beat up a woman was arrested on Friday by police while hiding in the restroom of the establishment.
Genero Vega Lansangan was found by police hiding in the restroom of the Susupe Poker establishment.
Lansangan was brought to Superior Court Monday morning before Associate Judge Juan T. Lizama who imposed a cash bail of $15,000 for his temporary release.
Lansangan was remanded to the custody of the Department of Corrections and was ordered to appear in court on May 23 for a preliminary hearing.
The affidavit of Detective Simon Manacop stated that Lansangan was playing poker at Susupe Poker when he became upset after losing $180.
Lansangan desided to rob the establishment and asked the victim, Chun Zi Jin, for a tissue.
As soon as the she opened the door to hand him the tissue, Lansangan pushed her causing her to fall.
He then entered the cashier’s booth and punched Chun Zi Jin several times.
She managed to fight back and later ran outside for assistance.
Lansangan took the money and hid in the restroom while a poker attendant called the police.
The affidavit stated that the victim went to the poker establishment to meet her friend, Wen Ji Jin, the cashier.
Wen Ji Jin asked the victim to assist him by staying in the cashier’s booth while he cleaned the air-conditioning unit outside.
The victim was inside the cashier’s booth when the defendant entered and assaulted her.
The victim suffered swelling on her face, bruises and scratches on her arms and neck and was treated later at the Commonwealth Health Center.
