GOP secretary resigns, saying he’s ‘sick and tired’

By Emmanuel T. Erediano
Variety News Staff

SAYING he’s sick and tired of what is happening to the GOP, Kimo M. Rosario has resigned as party secretary.
Rosario had resigned earlier over his frustration with the local media, but later agreed to remain as party secretary,
This time, he said, he is disappointed with what’s going on with the selection of House candidates.
In a telephone interview yesterday, Rosario said he does not want to be a part of an organization where the “left hand does not know what the right hand is doing,”
He said he is fed up with a party that engages in public infighting which, he added, hurts the GOP.
He said what took place on Friday regarding the Precinct 1 GOP candidates as reported by the Variety yesterday sets a bad precedent.
According to Rosario, the Precinct 1 candidates were not endorsed by the majority of the GOP board.
Rosario said it is also in violation of the party by-laws that only the party president and vice president meet with the Precinct 1 club officers to endorse House candidates.
Other precinct clubs will now proclaim the names of their House candidates even without the support of the majority of the GOP board members, Rosario said.
“I am sick and tired of what has been happening in the party. And I don’t want to be bothered anymore,” Rosario said, adding that his decision “will hopefully wake the (warring party members) up.”
He said he has already notified many of the GOP members and officers of his resignation.
Rosario said he did not submit a letter of resignation to the party leaders because “they do not deserve such a formality.”
