Kagman, Hopwood, WSR triumph in field events

KAGMAN High School pulled off an upset over favorite Marianas High School in the battle for the overall championships in the boys’ division for the second straight year with the Ayuyus success in field events in the 2007 McDonald’s All Schools Track and Field Championships over the weekend at the Oleai Sports Complex track and field facility.
KHS had a 1-2-3 finish in the boys’ 15-18 high jump with Trevor Ogumoro topping the event. John Santos placed second, while Keoni Chariton finished third. The three Ayuyus posted identical 1.60m in the high jump event with Ogumoro prevailing in the tiebreak.
Kagman had another top three finish in the long jump with Frank Dillay getting the gold with a 6.02m leap. In second and third places were Jesus Iguel (5.72m) and Santos (5.44m).
Santos finally notched a gold medal winning the shotput event with his 12.20m heave. Teammate Jordan Tagabuel finished second, while Southern’s Donovan Castro was third.
Iguel gave the Ayuyus their fourth gold medal in field events after ruling the javelin throw. Iguel posted 39.23m, while Tagabuel cruised to his second runnerup finish with his 38.64m. Southern’s Sylvan Rangamar placed third.
Kagman Elementary School, Hopwood, William S. Reyes and Grace Christian Academy also did well in field events.
Hopwood had five first place finishes in the girls and boys’ divisions.
James Rabauliman won in the high jump, Rodrigo Sacramento topped the long jump, Rocco Reyes prevailed in the shotput, Robert Lacanlale ruled the discus throw and Kristina Tudela dominated the girls’ 13-14 high jump.
Winning for the Kingfishers were Hedrick Ngiralmuut in the boys’ 6-8 long jump, Nathan Camacho in the boys’ 6-8 softball throw and Jose Lizama in the boys’ 9-10 softball throw.
Kagman Elementary School had four first place finishes with Jordan Manglona topping the boys’ 9-10 long jump.
Also delivering for the Marlins were Kelena Saures in the girls’ 6-8 long jump and softball throw and Dionne Deleon Guerrero in the girls’ 9-10 long jump.
Lia Rangamar won four events for the GCA Eagles, as she ruled the girls’ 13-14 long jump and shot put, discus and javelin throws.
Other winners in field events were Southern’s Eva Ito in the girls’ 15-18 high jump and shotput and javelin throws, Koblerville’s Rachel Abrams in the girls’ 11-12 long jump, MHS’s Jacque Wonenberg and Lei Rangamar in the girls’ 15-18 long jump and discus, respectively and Whispering Palms’ Amber Roberts in the girls’ 11-12 javelin throw.
San Antonio Elementary School’s David Ramon won in the boys’ 11-12 long jump and Whispering Palms Caleb Arriola and Lucas Knecht in the 11-12 and 13-14 javelin throws, respectively,
