NMA thanks McDonald’s, sponsors of All Schools track meet

(Northern Marianas Athletics)—The Northern Marianas Athletics thanked McDonald’s for supporting the All Schools Track and Field Championships for the third straight year.
McDonald’s donated $4,564 to NMA, which used the donation to purchase trophies, medals for winners and food for volunteers.
The McDonald’s All Schools track meet was held over the weekend at the Oleai Sports Complex track and field facility with about 1,500 student-athletes competing in running, jumping and throwing events.
“Our sincerest thank you to McDonald’s for its continuing support to the development of athletics in the CNMI. It’s good to know that even in this economic hardship, McDonald’s is still committed to promoting sports among our youth,” NMA secretary general Robin Sapong said.
Sapong received McDonald’s donation last Friday from McDonald’s administrative assistant Ana Olaes and Area Manager Joyce Asistores.
In a statement, McDonald’s Saipan president and owner Joe C. Ayuyu said their company is honored to be part of the annual tournament.
“This event truly brings together many talented individual throughout the Northern Mariana Islands. The McDonald’s All Schools Track and Field Championshi[s gives adult volunteers the opportunity to teach the youth important lessons they will carry with them throughout their lives,” the statement said.
“Young people learn the rewards of hard work, team work, responsibility and most importantly, how to win or lose with dignity,” the statement added.
Meanwhile, aside from McDonald’s, NMA also thanked the Public School System, Department of Community and Cultural Affairs, Division of Sports and Recreation, Department of Public Works, CUC, the Mayor’s Office, MHS JROTC, HJHS Marching Unit, Mayor Juan B.Tudela, NMASA president Mike White, DCCA secretary Daisy Villagomez-Bier, Tanapag Elementary School principal Francis Ulloa and all the volunteers who made this season and the 2007 McDonald’s All-Schools Track and Field Championship possible.
NMA also thanked the participating schools, namely Grace Christian Academy,
Koblerville Elementary School, Saipan Community School, San Antonio Elementary School, Tanapag Elementary Schoo, WSR Elementary School, Whispering Palms School, Tinian Elementary High School, ChaCha Oceanview Junior High School, Hopwood Junior High School, Kagman High School, Kagman Elementary School,
Marianas High School, Saipan Southern High School and Saipan International School.
