NWS: Storm to bring rain

By Trina A. San Agustin

GUAM can expect more rain in the next 12 to 24 hours as a circulation moves between Guam and Yap, according to the National Weather Service.
The circulation, according to NWS meteorologist Carl McElroy, has yet to be put on a warning by the Joint Typhoon Warning Center.
“The system is slowly developing,” McElroy said. “It is not strengthening very quickly. There is virtually no threat to Guam except an increase in rainfall for the next 24 to 36 hours.”
Local winds could be as strong as 25 to 30 miles per hour in a passing shower, according to McElroy. He added that there may not be any changes in the surf.
“Since the system is weak, it will not produce swell waves. A moderate 7-foot surf, at the highest, can be expected for east-facing exposures because of the trade winds,” McElroy added.
