This month, 190 students from
Head Start will be graduating and are now ready to enter the first grade.
Regina Mesebeluu Headstart Director said that 14 Head start centers will
be holding their commencement exercises this month.
Mesebeluu said that through the assistance and support of parents, the
community and the government.
Mesebeluu said it is always the goal of the Head Start to institute educational
programs geared for children 3-5 years of age.
She said that they are also aiming to increase the readiness of Head Start
students to the elementary level.
Mesebeluu said there are about 509 children enrolled at the 14 Head Start
Centers all over the country.
Graduation for the Ngarchelong Center is tomorrow at 9 a.m. On Wednesday,
May 16, Ngaraard, Ngiwal, Melekeok, Aimeliik, Ngermid, Dnegeronger and
Meyuns Head Start Center will hold their graduation.
The Head Start Centers in Ngchesar, Olbedekall, Ngerbeched, Madalii and
Peleliu scheduled their graduation on May 17 while Ngerelmengui center
kids will conducting their commencement exercise on May 18.
