Meeting for NMI men’s fast-pitch softball team set for May 23

FORTY-TWO players are invited to attend a meeting to discuss the NMI’s participation in the Oceania Softball Confederation North Pacific Championship Qualifier.
The meeting is set for May 23 at 6:30 p.m. in Gilbert C. Ada Gym’s pavilion.
Invited to attend the important meeting are Jess Manibusan, Jess Peterson, John T. Camacho, John Manibusan, Manny Cabrera, Tony Saturm Audie Maratita, Ben Cabrera, Jonathan Tenorio, Manny Sablan, Mario Aguon, Ben Mesa, Chris Camacho, Dante and Elmer Sablan, Jerome and Jonathan Delos Santos;
JP Flores, Nicolas Guerrero, Oscar Sablan, Tony Cmacho, BJ Sablan, Dane Lizama, Denis Ngeskebi, Jess Mesa, John Reyes, Mike Cruz, Oliver Secharmidal, Regino Celis, Tony Celis, Bib Lizama, Byron Kaipat, Clifton Sillil, Dave Kapileo, Eric Lizama, Inoski Yamada, Jeff Cabrera, JR Suel, Luis Iguel, Paul Camacho, Roy Celis and Roy Norita.
The CNMI Softball Association will be selecting the NMI team that will be competing in the North qualifier, which will be held on Guam later this year.
The association with the help of OSC development officer Andrew Purdon has been conducting a series of training sessions for the men’s and women’s teams in the past few months to prepare the NMI for the regional meet.
The top four teams in the men’s division in North and the four best squads in the South Pacific Championships will fight for the two slots in the 2008 Oceania Softball Championships.
The top two placers in the Oceania meet will then gain slots in the World Championships in Canada in 2009.
