Escape from Managaha registration


THE Saipan Swim Club is now accepting registrations for the 5th Escape from Managaha, which is set for May 26.
Pre-registration can be done through email with interested participants requested to email SSC coach Michael Stewart at wfla@hotmail.com
Participants can also registration on the day of the 2.9-km race at the Submarine Dock from 5:45 a.m. to 7 a.m.
A race briefing is set for 7:30 a.m.
The entrance fee is $30 per swimmer.
Participants must be able to finish a 1-mile swim in 40 minutes. Swimmers will be allowed to use fins and suits.

San Roque Parish golf tournament May 27


The 13th Annual San Roque Parish Golf Tournament will be held on May 27 at the Marianas Country Club in Marpi.
The tournament will have a shotgun start at 12 noon.
The annual golfest will be having competitions in six flights, namely the Championship Flight, A, B,C, Ladies and Seniors.
Prizes in the tournament include 500 pieces concrete blocks, roundtrip tickets to Rota and Guam, an air-conditioner, an electric water pump, live rooster and trophies.
The entrance fee is $100 per player.
Proceeds from the tournament will go to the improvement of the parish social hall.

9th Seaside Grill Beach Volleyball tournament June 15-17


THE ninth edition of the Annual Seaside Grill Beach Volleyball Weekend will run from June 15 to 17 at the Pacific Islands Club.
There will be two tournaments on June 15 and 16, namely a co-ed four-person event and a 14-and-under four-person tilt.
The men and women’s doubles competitions are set for June 17.
The entrance fee for the four-person tournament is $15 per player. The doubles entry fee is $25 per player.
NMIVA members who want to play in the tournament are entitled to a $5 discount. Participants age 17-years old and below will be given a $10 discount.
Cash prizes will be awarded to winners with the amount depending on the number of entries.


Eskuelan San Francisco de Borja golf fundraiser June 30


THE Eskuelan San Francisco de Borja of Rota will be holding a golf fundraising tournament on June 30 on the west course of the LaoLao Bay Golf Resort.
Proceeds from the tournament will be used for operating expenses of the Songsong-based school.
The entrance fee is $120. The tee-off time is set for 7:30 a.m, while the check-in time is at 6 a.m. The tournament format is double peoria.

SGA May Ace at COP


THE Saipan Golf Association will be holding its May Ace of the Month tournament on May 20 at Coral Ocean Point.
The tee-time is set for 8:30 a.m.
Members are encouraged to be at COP before the tee time and confirm their participation to SGA officers.
The winner of this month’ tournament will join early winners Ray San Nicolas (January), Ned Norita (February), Bob Magofna (March) and Rene Batallones (April) in the Ace of the Aces tournament in December.


Trench Wars 6 moved to June 23


THE Trench Wars 6 “Mass Destruction” will take place at the Gilbert C. Ada Gym on June 23.
Tickets are now being sold for $20 for general admission and $35 for VIPs.
“Mass Destruction” will feature fighters from Saipan, Guam and other islands in Micronesia.
