AGO wants immediate transfer of Paseo Stadium account to GovGuam

THE Attorney General’s Office yesterday filed a motion asking the Superior Court of Guam to compel the Guam Baseball Federation to “immediately” transfer government funds earned from the operation of the Paseo Stadium.
Deputy Attorney General William “Bill” Bischoff said GBF commissioner Mark Charfauros has at least 20 days to respond to the complaint filed by the AGO.
He said they were compelled to file the latest motion because Charfauros, who is the current airport chief police, continues to ignore his written notice to transfer custody of the Municipal Stadium Operations Fund which was allegedly kept from the supervision of the director of the Department of Parks and Recreation.
DPR director Joseph Duenas, in a declaration, asked for the transfer of the $12,000 paid by Ambros to GBF in October 2005 as part of the government’s tax credit incentive program.
Duenas said the money was supposed to be used for Paseo utility payments but GBF placed the money in another account and not in the Municipal Stadium Operations Fund account.
