FOLLOWING what is now a tradition, LaoLao Bay Golf Resort’s 5th Family Fun Day will be celebrated with a golf tournament on May 26 on the west course of the Kagman-based golf facility.
A round-trip ticket from Asiana Airlines awaits the top finisher in the one-day tournament, while second and third placers will receive $500 and $300, respectively.
The tournament will have a shotgun start at 7:30 a.m. , while show time is at 6:30 a.m. The entry fee is $80.
Sasaki Oliver, who is now based in Guam, was last year’s winner in the Family Fun Day golfest beating Tony Benavente, Jr., Jess Wabol and Joe “Kamikaze” Camacho in the playoffs.
“Again, this tournament is our way of saying thank you to the local community which continues to support LaoLao Bay ,” said Jerry Tiu, Director of Business Development.
Tiu added that golfers are not the only ones who will enjoy Family Fun Day, as LaoLao Bay is inviting the public to celebrate the festivities in the annual event.
Aside from the golf tournament, LaoLao will be holding fun games, kite flying and other activities on May 26 from 8 a.m. to 12 noon .
A Magic Show will run from 11 to 12.
“We’re inviting the public, especially parents, to bring their kids to LaoLao Bay and enjoy our great surprises. We are preparing a memorable day for the entire family, ” Tiu added.
Also to be featured on Family Fun Day is an on-course walkathon.
LaoLao Bay is teaming up with the Commonwealth Diabetes Coalition in holding the 5-kilometer walk.
Proceeds from the walkathon, which will start at 6 a.m. , will be used by the coalition for its programs.
Last year, $590 was raised from the walkathon with the proceeds going to the Micronesian Games. Nate Mateo and Laila Qudsi ruled the male and female divisions of the race.
