AFTER showing
their wares in the 2007 McDonalds All Schools Track and Field Championships,
three NMI student-athletes have been invited to participate in Guams
version of the annual youth trackfest.
Marianas High Schools Jacque Wonenberg, Kagman High Schools
Yvonne Bennett and Saipan Southern High Schools Sylvan Rangamar
will be leaving for Guam today to compete in the All Schools tomorrow.
This trip will be beneficial for our athletes as they will be competing
with athletes from Guams various high schools. As a way to continue
to promote and sharpen the skills of our local athletes, NMA believes
in having our local athletes compete in off-island competitions,
said Northern Marianas Athletics secretary general Robin Sapong, who will
accompany the three NMI athletes to Guam.
These athletes will also be representing their schools. NMA woulld
like to thank the parents, the schools and all who in one way or another
supported our events, Sapong said.
