THE ChaCha Stars and the G-Rollers won their 14-and-under matches, while the Explosives surprised their 16-and-under foe last Wednesday in the 2007 NYBA 16-and-under Basketball League at the Garapan court.
The ChaCha Stars recovered from a seven-point halftime deficit and pulled off a 59-48 win over the Celtics.
ChaCha was down at halftime, 17-24, when Tom Agulto, Donovan George, Juan Iguel and Jack Pua teamed up in the second half to lift their team to an 11-point victory in the boys’ 14-and-under division match.
Agulto topscored for the ChaCha Stars with 12 points, while George added nine markers. Iguel and Pua contributed eight points apiece.
In the other 14-and-under game, the G-Rollers easily cruised past the Dandan Dreamers, 91-36.
After taking a 36-17 lead, the G-Rollers never gave the Dreamers a chance to steal the game.
Brandon Aurelio waxed hot from downtown hitting three triples and scoring 15 markers. Jason Palacios led all scorers with 21 points, while Dino Palacios and Jomar Danas chipped in 12 and 10 markers, respectively.
In the lone boys’ 16-and-under game, the Explosives pulled off a 72-65 upset over the G-Rollers 2.
