TWO employees of Pacific Trading Company were arrested for stealing several bottles of Johnny Walker Black Label.
Peter M. Togawa, 29 and Wilfred A. Pua, 33, were taken into custody at the Department of Corrections for theft.
Department of Public Safety spokeswoman Lei Ogumoro said DPS received a call on May 4 regarding two theft incidents at Pacific Trading.
The general manager of the company filed a complaint against the two suspects after a witness caught Pua stealing two bottles of Johnny Walker from one of the company’s delivery trucks.
The incident was immediately reported to the general manager who reported the incident to the police.
A preliminary investigation revealed that Pua was not the only employee engaged in theft.
Togawa also admitted stealing a case of Johnny Walker which costs $354.
He said he sold the case of Johnny Walker to a store in Chalan Kanoa for $200.
DPS is advising the public, particularly the business sector, that it is illegal to knowingly receive stolen property.
Members of the community are urged to call Crime Stoppers at 234-7272 regarding any stolen property being sold to anyone or to any commercial establishments.
Anyone caught buying or receiving stolen property will be arrested and charged accordingly, DPS said.
