With the Middle School Rugby matches beginning at 9:00 am on Saturday and each team looking at three matches in order to win the Cup everyone was looking at a long, hard days work in order to win the championship.
Two teams would make it to the finals Saturday and it would be a rematch of last year’s championship games as the St. Francis Crusaders took on the Bishop Obispos in both the girls and boys matches.
The Crusaders were looking to exact revenge on the Obispos as Bishop took both games last year. The girls would play before the boys and they would set the pace for how Championship games are supposed to be played.
With the game tied at 35 a piece and under a minute left in the game St. Francis’ Joni Tedpahogo would shake the defense and score the winning try giving the Crusaders the victory and the Cup.
The boys would then take the field looking to match the intensity brought by the girls. The game would begin in a stalemate with each team scoring tries back and forth.
The Crusaders would then score consecutive tries to put them up and they wouldn’t look back taking the victory 52 – 26. The Crusaders then celebrated their two cup victories as both the girls and boys got revenge on last years champions.
