A MASKED man staged an armed
robbery at a poker arcade in Chalan Kanoa on Sunday.
It was the seventh armed robbery involving a poker establishment since
February.
The Department of Public Safety said the suspect was armed with a machete
when he entered the Shany Poker Game Room on May 20.
DPS spokeswoman Lei Ogumoro said the incident was reported to police at
2:28 a.m.
The suspect was wearing a black mask, blue denim jeans and a black long-sleeved
shirt.
He kicked the door to the cashiers booth open and took $1,035 in
cash before fleeing.
The security guard, the cashier and two customers were not harmed during
the robbery incident, DPS said.
So far, police have solved only one of the armed robberies the
one that occurred at Golden Poker in San Antonio.
There were four suspects involved in that incident which occurred on April
12.
The suspects were armed with a hammer and crowbar. They were Anthony Campos,
20; Clifford Masga, 18; Michael Jordan Palacios, 18; and Patrick Ito,
19.
The robbery reported to police on May 12 happened at JL II Poker in Susupe.
The suspects were armed with a hammer and a machete.
In February, three suspects armed with a handgun and a machete robbed
777 Treasure Island Game Club II Poker in San Antonio.
In March, two armed robberies occurred at Crown Poker in San Antonio
and at DK Poker in Koblerville.
Three persons were hurt in those incidents.
In April, another armed robbery was reported to police, this time at Niko
Poker in San Antonio.
The suspects, armed with a crowbar, assaulted a male customer in that
incident.
