Ex-Miss NMI included on National Dean’s List, again

MISS NMI World 2004 Tracy Del Rosario has been included —for the third time — on the National Dean’s List after maintaining a grade point average of 4.0.
Del Rosario, who is in her second year in elementary and special education at Chaminade University in Hawaii, is the daughter of Herbert and Rose Del Rosario.
She is an NMC liberal arts graduate and spent a couple of years teaching at Oleai Elementary School. She also worked as assistant manager at the Hollywood Theater before she left for Hawaii to pursue her bachelor’s degree.
Established in 1978, the National Dean’s List is one of the most recognized student honor programs for high-achieving students nationwide.
The former beauty queen is not going to be home this summer because she’s conducting research on the changing demographics in education.
Maintaining a 4.0 GPA, she said, will allow her to pursue a master’s degree in education which she plans to start this summer.
Tray Del Rosario was inducted into Delta Epsilon Sigma Honor Society last month, and is the recipient of the Na Liko Scholars Celebration, an annual award given to scholars who participate in research programs.
She said her research topic was on a Hawaiian Immersion school, Kula O Anuenue, which had to undergo restructuring in school years 2002-2006.
As part of her research, she designed a restructuring plan for the school to follow, in order to meet the requirements of the federal No Child Left Behind Act.
She said she was invited to present her research findings in February at the 10th Annual American Association of Behavioral and Social Sciences Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada.
