A man arrested for stabbing another man has been charged by the Attorney General’s Office with assault with a dangerous weapon, aggravated assault and battery and assault and battery.
Chief Prosecutor Jeffery Warfield Sr. stated in the information that Zhang Zhe Piao on or about May 14 did unlawfully cause bodily injury to Cheng Zhe Liu with a knife.
Cheng Zhe Liu’s lung and kidney were damaged during the incident.
Zhang Zhe Piao was arrested on May 16.
Prior to the incident, the two were drinking at a karaoke bar and later engaged in an argument.
Witnesses saw the defendant slap the face of the victim before leaving the bar.
The victim also left and went back to his apartment in Tanapag.
Later, the defendant, holding a knife, entered the victim’s apartment.
Witnesses heard them arguing again and when they entered the victim’s apartment, they found him bleeding from stab wounds to the stomach.
