Masters baseball: Yona Rulz beats Guam Seniors, 13-3

By Kyle Terwilliger
Variety News Staff

Paseo Stadium would see 76 Circle K Masters Baseball League action Monday night as the Guam Seniors looked to tie Yona Rulz.
The Seniors would come into the game with a record of 2-6 only a game back of the 3-5 Yona Rulz. The Guam Seniors would quickly see that Yona did in fact rule as they won via the mercy rule 13-3.
Yona would be led by Danny Pocaigue as he showed outstanding leather on the field and gave a hitting clinic at the plate as he drove in three runs and scored two runs himself.
Yona would also get their whole team to contribute as Frank Fernandez scored two runs and had an RBI.
Manet Aguon, Ed Ferjan, Jesse Blas, Manny Quenga, Ken Sablan, Joe Fernandez, and Richard Mendiola would all contribute one run apiece in the win.
Yona’s Alvin Ferjan would be the ace on the mound as he got the win after pitching a complete game. Ferjan would give up three earned runs racking up five strikeouts and walking three.
The Seniors’ Frank Torres would receive the loss. Sunday both Yona and the Seniors will be in action once again as Paseo Stadium will host a double header.
At 10:30 am the first game will kick off as the Masters Baseball Academy takes on Yona Rulz. Yona will look to continue its winning ways.
In the second game of the double header the last place Bluewings will look to climb into fifth place as they take on the Guam Seniors at 1:30 pm.
