Due to the ongoing installation
of pipes at the Ngerikiil Road, the temporary water outage being implemented
every Sunday will continue until further notice, the Bureau of Public
Works (BPW) announced this week.
Similar to the previous one on May 13, the water outage next Sunday May
20 will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
BPW said that this is to allow contractor Socio Micronesia to install
and connect new water pipes between Airai Airport and Ngerikiil Bridge.
This road is the connecting road from the main highway from Koror to Airai
to the East Side (Package B) of the Compact Road, which is under construction
through grants from the government of Taiwan.
Minister of Resources and Development Fritz Koshiba and Acting BPW Director
Techur Rengulbai have asked the public to be prepared and extending appreciation
to their patience and cooperation for this matter.
Any questions and more details, the public is advised to contact the BPW
at 488-24-80/2438 and the MRD at 767-2701.
Meanwhile, the Ngerikiil to Shimizu segment of the Compact Road on Package
B, which was closed for several months due to repairs on one of the bridges
and several cracks on the paved road, was temporarily opened starting
last Wednesday May 15.
The road will be closed again on May 24..
The temporary one week opening of that section is due to the ongoing repair
work of the cross-island road from Kokusai in Ngatpang ro Shimizu in Ngchesar.,
which is temporarily closed.
