Korean students participate in cleanup campaign

VISITING Korean students on Friday participated in a cleanup activity on Beach Road, the mayor’s  student program coordinator Yuki Kishimoto said.


After the cleanup, Saipan Mayor David M. Apatang presented certificates of appreciation to the 14 students for their community service.
Kishimoto said the students picked up trash from the Oleai Beach area to the 13 Fishermen Monument pavilion in Garapan.

“The mayor extended his gratitude to the students for contributing to the beautification of the environment,” she added.
Prior to the cleanup, Apatang met with the students and encouraged them to visit the island’s historical and other tourist sites
The mayor asked the students to come back next year  with their family members, classmates and friends.
Costa World Tour facilitated the  visit of the Korean students who were here to attend a short-term English class. They left Saipan on Sunday.
