CNMI says no to racism

I AM writing this letter to address one of the most vicious factors that this wonderful world is sorrowfully facing, RACISM.

It is not foreign to any place or to anyone. However, we, the people of the CNMI, do not tolerate RACISM. It is not wanted and welcome in our beautiful islands of the CNMI.

For years, the people of the CNMI have been trying to avoid such cruelty. We do our best to keep peace, care and love one another. Despite our differences in blood, culture, religion, and/or skin color, we welcome every one from every walk of life, every time and any time. We love to keep the attitude of the song by Lucky Dube, “Different Colors One People,” and welcome everyone with warm generosity and respectful greetings of “HAFA ADAI” and “TIROW” to our islands of the CNMI. These tiny group of islands (Saipan, Tinian, Rota, and the Northern Islands) in the CNMI are too small to accommodate such disgraceful acts, feelings, and behaviors.

In conclusion, I call on EVERYONE to join the fight in keeping the CNMI free from RACISM. Let our people of the CNMI record a history of RACISM FREE. So, as we go on, generations after generations, they are rightfully shown and taught how to treat anyone and everyone as one people. Accept the differences and love one another!
