Lawmaker asks CUC to open payment center in island’s eastern central area

REPRESENTATIVE Lorenzo I Deleon Guerrero is asking the Commonwealth Utilities Corp. to open a payment service center in the eastern central area of Saipan.

He said there are a significant number of CUC customers in Kagman, Papago, As Teo, I Denni, Capital Hill and northern San Vicente.

A payment service center in the area, he added, will alleviate the inconvenience CUC’s customers currently undergo to pay their bills.

He noted that IT&E recently opened a customer service facility in Kagman.

“Maybe IT&E staff can receive CUC payments and this service can be paid for by CUC by off-setting IT&E’s utility bills,” he added.

In Kagman, he said, they have three public schools, five or more retail stores, two churches, a community health center, a tire shop, a gas station, a basketball court, agricultural farm plots and a community center.

Deleon Guerrero said he’s hoping that CUC will consider his request that will benefit community members.
