MINA provides educational film to PSS

(Press Release) — To further the Micronesia Islands Nature Alliance’s mission of “Empowering Communities for Conservation,” MINA recently met with Glenn Muna, acting commissioner of education, and Rose Ada Hocog, communications and outreach coordinator for the Public School System to deliver an early Christmas gift to the students of the CNMI.

Through a grant received from the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration, MINA produced an educational video about marine debris prevention for distribution throughout the CNMI’s bilingual classrooms for inclusion in their curriculum.

The film highlights the dangers of marine debris and its hazards to the marine environment, and brings awareness to the students of the seriousness of the situation.

Special thanks for making this film possible go out to the Bureau of Environmental and Coastal Quality, Department of Community and Cultural Affairs, Chamorro/Carolinian Language Affairs Commission, and the CNMI Public School System.
