Japanese travel agents visit NMI museum

NMI Museum director Danny Aquino is thankful for the recent visit of Japanese travel agents.

“For most of them, this was their first time to discover Saipan and it was also a chance to familiarize and educate themselves with the islands’ culture and historical heritage.”

He is hoping that the tour agents will endorse the NMI Museum as one of the must-see attractions on Saipan.

“Their visit was a very positive experience,” Aquino said. “The tour representatives were able to visually see what life was like during the pre-war period for the Japanese, the Chamorros and Carolinians.”

The visitors were Masato Tezuka of Tasi Tours and PMT Tours; Konihiko Yasuki of Keio Travel/Keio Railway; Hiroshi Miyata of Entetsu Travel/Entetsu Railway; Fuminobu Sasaki of Okdakyu Travel/Okdakyu Railway; Naoki Nakazawa of Shizutetsu Travel/Shizutetsu Railway; Nobuaki Sakamaki of Tobu Top Tours/Tobu Railway; Isamu Shinohara of Fujikyu Travel/Fujikyu Railway; Kazuhiro Tanaka and Shinobu Omori of JTB Group.

The visitors, for their part, thanked Aquino for accommodating them at the museum.

“Mr. Tezuka was surprised with the transformation of the museum in such a short period of time,” Aquino said.
