The Friends of the Arts thanks Roman Rudnytsky

(Press Release) — The Friends of the Arts thanks Roman Rudnytsky, an internationally renowned classical pianist, for his continued service to the CNMI community during his current return visit.

Since his arrival on Feb. 3, he has been visiting CNMI schools, both public and private, playing for their enjoyment and discussing classical music with the students. Rudnytsky will continue his school visits daily during his two-week stay in the CNMI.

The FOA will sponsor two special concerts during Rudnytsky’s visit — a rare chance to listen to live classical music, played by a master pianist. The Friends of the Arts invites the community to come and enjoy this special opportunity and an evening of magical music.

Rudnytsky will be performing a special Magic of Love Concert on Valentine’s Day evening, Feb. 14, at the Gov. Pedro P. Tenorio Multi-Purpose Center. This concert of romantic music is open to the public at the cost of $8 for adult FOA members, $10 for adult non-members, $5 for students and children over age 4. Special treats will be provided to help make it a great way to celebrate a special day with your special person. The doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and the concert will begin at 7 p.m. Reservations can be made by contacting Frank Gibson by phone or text at 287-7476 or, preferably, by e-mail at flgibson@yahoo.com.

The second concert will be Saturday, February 17, also at the multi-purpose center. This performance will also be open to the public at the cost of $6 for adult FOA members, $8 for adult non-members, $4 for students and children over age 4. The doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and the concert will begin at 7 p.m.

The two programs will include differing selections each night from such classical masters as Chopin, Albeniz, Beethoven, Debussy, Liszt, Rachmaninoff and other musical greats, to include Debussy’s Clair de Lune, performed by a modern day master. Each concert will have different selections of music. The commonwealth’s local young magician, Neil Fama, grand prize winner at this year’s Bridge Capital’s CNMI’s Got Talent, will entertain during intermission with a demonstration of his magical talent.

Roman Rudnytsky is an internationally active concert pianist of Ukrainian background whose frequent performances take him all over the world, to every continent and places in-between. In addition to performances in capital cities and important musical centers, he often plays in places away from the musical mainstream, bringing the world and pleasure of classical music to audiences which seldom experience this type of music in live performance. He has received much acclaim in the world’s press and many repeat invitations.

This is Rudnytsky’s ninth trip to the CNMI. He travels at his own expense and donates his time to the community. The Friends of the Arts, with the help of sponsors from the community, have hosted Rudnytsky’s stay.

The Friends of the Arts would like to thank the generous sponsors who make this visit possible: the Office of the Governor, Bridge Capital, IT&E, Drs. Edgar and Susan Tudor, Atkins-Kroll Toyota, Hertz Car Rental, Brabu Pharmacy, Dental Care, Triple J Saipan, Everest Kitchen Restaurant, Toothworks Dental Clinic, PHI Pharmacy, Paradise Dental Center, Hardt Eye Clinic, J’s Restaurant, Yaong Corporation, Tasi Tours, Fiesta Resort and Spa, Aqua Resort Club and HR Support, CNMI. Without their assistance events such as this would not be possible.
