The team had two first place categories and two second place categories in the regional competition. First place categories were for Core Values (teamwork) and Robot Performance (how the robot performed in the 2 ½-minute rounds). The team also received the Core Values award by the judges showing the team had special qualities that were above and beyond the other teams. The second place categories were for the Project Presentation and for the Robot Design and Programming.

The theme this year for the Lego-Robotics competition was Hydrodynamics; how humans get, store, or use water. The Saipan Seventh-day Adventist School Lego-Robotics team chose to come up with a way to get potable water without having to always buy water. They looked at different ways to harvest water from the air and chose to build a model version of a tower that would capture water from the air and then feed it to a drinking fountain at school. A full-size tower could potentially collect up to 20 gallons of water a day.

The Lego-Robotics team was invited and are planning their trip to Orlando, FL the first part of May. They have been working with their robots and programming as well as the Hydrodynamics project. The Lego-Robotics team is working on fundraising and finding sponsors for this trip to Orlando. Ms Stroud stated that it will take approximately $10,000 for the students to experience this competition with other schools from around the United States. With the Saipan SDA School Lego-Robotics team going to the national competition in Orlando, FL, Saipan will be represented in the Nationals Competition.
