Sablan jumps across buildings

DAVID Muna Sablan, who was arrested for attempting to manufacture methamphetamine, jumped from the second floor of Micro Beach Hotel to the adjacent JJ Building, a confidential informant told Variety.

According to the witness, Sablan, 39,  jumped off the hotel in a daring attempt to escape and did not come from JJ building as footage shows.

Sablan was charged in the U.S. District Court for the NMI with conspiring with others in manufacturing methamphetamine.

On Friday, Assistant U.S. attorney Garth Backe asked the court to order Sablan’s detention  pending trial.

Backe said the offense for which Sablan was being charged carries a penalty of a maximum of 10 years in prison.

The court appointed attorney Janet King to represent Sablan.

Sablan is scheduled to appear for a detention hearing on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at 9:30 a.m. and a preliminary examination hearing on Friday March 30, 2018 at 9 a.m.

According to Drug Enforcement Agency agents, Sablan was in agreement with two or more persons to manufacture meth and defendant knowingly manufactured meth and knew it was meth or some other federally controlled substance.
