Marianas named most popular island at China fair

(MVA) — This month the Marianas Visitors Authority joined  hands  with  Dynasty  Holiday,  Century  Tours  and  Shenzhen  Professional  International Travel Service to participate in the 2018 Guangzhou International Travel Fair.

The fair attracted 37,334 attendees, 20 percent more than in 2017.  Also, 1,029 exhibitors from 53 countries and regions joined the event, which was held from May 1-3, 2018, at the China Import & Export Fair Complex in Guangzhou.

“At GITF, MVA took advantage of this opportunity to meet with the 800+ hosted buyers and tens of thousands of consumers in attendance,” said MVA marketing manager Broc Calvo.  “In addition, we marked the formal launch in China of our ‘My Marianas’ and ‘Paradise for Everyone’ promotional slogans, inviting visitors to fully explore the unique and dynamic rhythms of Saipan, Tinian, and Rota.”

The theme “Paradise for Everyone,” which was first launched in Korea, aims to develop a personal emotional connection for visitors to the Marianas. It has eight different themes, including ocean, sports, family, wedding & honeymoon, culture, food, driving and eco-tour. The slogan provides the general brand direction for all MVA marketing events in 2018 in China and will be used to create social buzz, applied to all collaterals, and followed by all partners in coming promotions.

In order to further enhance the visa-free entry efficiency for Chinese visitors to the Marianas,  U.S. Customs and Border Protection recently released the electronic version of I-736 form. For those who enjoy visa-free entry to the Marianas, simply fill in the online I-736 electronic form and print it and submit it to Customs officials upon arrival. Visitors with a valid U.S. travel visa need not fill in the I-736 electronic form, simply complete the registration of the EVUS electronic visa online before departure, and you will be able to enter the country quickly.

Chinese tourists can fly directly to Saipan from five cities including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Hangzhou and Hong Kong. In addition, nearly 30 other cities in the country have opened inter-connecting flights to Saipan through these major cities.
