Keynotes students win gold, silver at Tumon Bay Music Festival

(Press Release) — Keynotes School of Music students brought home three medals from the Tumon Bay Music Festival held in Tamuning, Guam early last month.

Juliet Inocencio’s great performance landed her a gold medal in the solo vocalist category while drummer Luis Cataluna won silver. For the group category, Nearby Band was awarded silver.

KSM’s Nearby Band is composed of Luis Cataluna, Juliet Inocencio, Jzl Santomin, and Deejay Santomin. All band members gave their best foot forward to make their school and family proud.

KSM teacher Russel Dequito told his students that he never doubted that they will be bringing home the bacon because he saw how enthusiastic the students were. He even added that the passion each one of them have for music is their strongest armor in the competition.

Milagros Songcuan, KSM director, accompanied the students to Guam. She expressed gratitude to the parents who gave their full support and confidence in the school’s capability to teach and enhance their children’s talents to its full potential.

Keynotes School of Music will continue to help develop the talents of each student and hone them to be one of the better if not the best in their own chosen field.
