The night featured performances by  Parker Yobei and the Proa Factor talent competition contestants as community members danced the cha-cha and other steps to the sound of music.

Also performing were the Marianas High School Rhythm & Harmony, Re-Up & Chamorro Club, Saipan Music & Dance Studio, DJ Tofu, and  the 29:11 Dance Group.

According to Studio 29:11 leader Ray Skilang Lizama, their group has been actively performing in community events for three years now and were excited to showcase their dancing talents at NMC.

The Proa Factor talent competition winner was Gotti Taitano whose stage name is “Young Gotti.”

He placed second in the 2017 competition but was determined to win this year.  “I’m so thankful that the judges chose me,”  he said. (To see the live interview of Gotti Taitano, go to https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=upytDTfnL1g)

More community members participated in this year’s Charter Day celebration compared to last year. Also participating were many food vendors and organizations that showcased their programs. Among the special guests was 2018 Miss Marianas Celine C. Cabrera.

It was another successful NMC Charter Night celebration.
