According to the resolution, their passing of the exam came at a critical time for the hospital which has been affected by the CW cap imposed by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.

The Senate recognizes the three NMC graduates “for showing interest in the nursing profession,” a career that aims to provide immediate care during times of pain, discomfort and trauma.

The author of the resolution, Sen. Justo Quitugua is also urging the House of Representatives to pass Senate Bill 20-71 which will create  a scholarship for students admitted into the nursing program of Northern Marianas College. The bill was introduced by Senate President Arnold Palacios.

Quitugua said the bill will encourage more students to consider a nursing career.
