Police identified the driver of the SUV as 24-year-old Patrick Castro who was arrested and cited for driving under the influence, reckless driving, and having an open container in the vehicle.

After the collision, Castro was seen arguing with police officers at the scene.

A witness told Variety that the driver of the blue SUV wanted to “race” with other vehicles.

Department of Public Safety spokeswoman Jackie Rae said on Thursday, May 17, 2018, at 7:26 p.m., DPS dispatch received several calls regarding a reckless driver near Trans-America in Garapan.

Rae said the driver of the SUV as well as two occupants were all under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident.

They and the driver as well as passenger of the Toyota Tacoma were transported to the Commonwealth Health Center where they received treatment, Rae said.
